The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) wishes to inform the general public that following a one-week Eid ul-Fitr break, the domestic first division league will resume beginning this Thursday.

All matches in the division will henceforth be played at night with two matches each on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and one match on Sunday. Kickoff times for the matches are 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and 10pm depending on the day and the number of matches on that particular day.

It could be recalled that the GFF has been charging tickets at the gates necessitated by the fact that the operational expenditure attached to the organisation of the matches is very high. Thus, in the absence of sponsorship for the league, with all costs borne by the Federation, we’ve decided to review the ticket prices with the VIP section now increased from D100:00 (One Hundred Dalasi) to D150:00 (One Hundred and Fifty Dalasi); Covered Pavilion from D20:00 (Twenty Dalasi) to D50:00 (Fifty Dalasi) while the uncovered pavilions remain at D20:00 (Twenty Dalasi).

In the same vein, all card holders, including players, coaches, and all other officials are allowed to watch the matches at no cost but must access the Stadium through the Covered Pavilion and not the VIP section. All Club Presidents and GFF invitees would also be given non-transferable cards to access the VIP Section whilst the rest of club members and other stakeholders should use the Covered Pavilion otherwise, they will have to pay if they choose to access the VIP Section.

The GFF will also be selling season tickets to allow customers a non-transferable ticket to access all the remaining matches at the VIP section with a permanently marked seating arrangement at just D2000:00 (Two Thousand Dalasi).

Finally, holders of electronic cards are advised not to pass their cards to third parties to access the stadium and non-journalists are equally advised not to sit in the media tribune during the matches.

The above decisions will be implemented with immediate effect starting with this week’s matches.

While we thank all fans and stakeholders as well as the media for their usual cooperation and understanding, we further urge for the continues support and collaboration, at all times, to continue our upward trajectory in football development in The Gambia.
