The Gambia home-based National Team, widely known as CHAN, over the weekend defeated Brikama United 1-0 in a preparatory friendly match played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama.
The match was a closely contested affair between the two sides and it took Adama Kujabi’s lone strike to seal the win for Omar Sise’s side. Kujabi finished expertly with the simplest of strikes after he got to the end of a textbook cross from a corner delivered by Saikou Cessay.
Both teams are preparing for international outings next month. While Brikama United plays Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League, the CHAN Team is preparing to host their Senegalese equivalents in another friendly on August 21. Omar Sise’s side will also participate in the WAFU Cup of Nations in Senegal in September where they will face Ghana in their opening match.
