Home Based National Team (CHAN) Sets To Camp Thursday

Gambia National Home based team (CHAN) is set for local camping on Thursday September 26 at Football Hotel in Yundum. The camping is a continuation of the National team’s local preparation ahead of the second edition of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations, 2019 in Thies, Senegal.
The team however holds its training at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on regular basis where Coach Omar Sise continues to hone the skills of his charges ahead of what promises to be a spectacular tournament sponsored by Fox Sports.

Speaking at their training ground on Tuesday afternoon, Sise first confirmed the camp date at Football Hotel scheduled for Thursday 26th September while planning to travel to Senegal over the weekend.
“We are going to camp on Thursday evening. The preparation is going well because we are still working hard”.  He said as part of the team’s technical adjustment, he had plans to add in a few overseas players “so that i can have experience and young blended together”. He said his wish to have Ousman Marong and Bun Sanneh as part of the team would be so helpful to strengthen the build up but would still wait until shortly before their eventual travel.
Meanwhile WAFU has announced that Gambia will now open its account to Ghana on Tuesday 1st October, 2019 instead of 28th September as previously stated. The West African body has further recalled Sierra Leone to take part in the sixteen nations tournament and have been paired with Liberia. This development is necessitated by the withdrawal of Morocco out of the tournament.
The Gambia’s full squad list and delegation would be published in the coming days
