Hawks Football Club has sent a letter of appreciation to The Gambia Football Federation for its financial support to the Club during its campaign in the preliminary stages of the CAF Confederations Cup. The Reds lost 3-2 on aggregate to Akwa United over two legs following a 2-0 home defeat to the Nigerian cup winners in midweek, thus missing out on a place to the next stage of the qualifiers.

As well as the Gambia FF Cup winners, the Federation gave D250,00:00 to The Gambia Armed Forces FC in preparation for their first round qualifiers in the Confederations Cup and Champions League and also gave them both full-board lodging at the Football Hotel ahead of their return legs. The Gambian champions will be playing Zonaco of Zambia in the second leg at the Independence Stadium on Saturday as they look to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg. If the Khaki Boys are to overturn the deficit, a similar amount of gesture will be given to them for the next round.

Below is the full text of the letter from Hawks Football Club.

We are completely overwhelmed by this kind and gratifying gesture which has really helped the team in our CAF Confederations Cup preliminary stage campaign.

We thank you most profoundly and fervently pray that God Almighty continue to inspire, protect and guide you and your family.
