The Gambia Football Federation recently signed new contracts with two Construction firms for the continuation of works at Gunjur and Busumbala Mini Stadiums.
The signing ceremony which was held on Tuesday 24th November 2020 at the Football House in Kanifing was presided over by the GFF President Lamin Kaba Bajo, and attended by members of GFF Projects and Contracts Committee.
The two firms, Lerr Group and Zen Construction would take works from the previous contractor Jalo Kolong whose contract has been terminated due to unsatisfactory performance.
During the signing ceremony the GFF President   assured the two contractors of the GFF’s cooperation and support to ensure timely execution of the projects. “I want to assure you again that the GFF will fully support you to the end of the project because the people of Busumbala and Gunjur have endured a lot and we want to thank them for their patience”.

Following on the heels of the signing ceremony held on Tuesday, the CEO of Fenta Architects Consultancy Mr Baboucar Senegal-Janneh and GFF General Secretary Lamin M Jassey led the Project team to the sites (Gunjur and Busumbala) to formally hand over the sites to the two contractors.
Lerr Group is awarded with the construction of a grass pitch, dressing rooms and pavilions at Gunjur while Zen Construction will take up the site at Busumbala for the construction of grass pitch, dressing rooms and pavilions.
GFF General Secretary Lamin M Jassey congratulated both the Lerr Group and Zen Construction for winning the works and noted that the GFF has trust and confidence in their works. He also thanked the communities of Gunjur and Busumbala for their patience while waiting to hear from the GFF. “I want to thank the people of Gunjur and Busumbala for the fact that you have waited for so long for this dream which is yet to be realized. So I now urged you to take up the challenge and see yourself as part of the project because the contractors would need your services during the work”.
The beneficiary communities of Gunjur and Busumbala hailed the efforts of the GFF as promising and thanked the Federation for sticking to their promise. They further promised to work with their respective contractors in order to deliver the works on time.
