The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) is saddened and devastated by the untimely demise of Mr. Pa Modou Faal in the most tragic of circumstances.

Mr. Faal, according to reports, died with two other colleagues in an automobile accident in Jarra Jifin of the Lower River Region last night. The others are Musa Ndow, a former Daily Observer journalist and Kawsu Bayo, a health worker. All three worked with the Ministry of Health by the time of their untimely death.

A veteran of more than two decades as a journalist, Pa Modou Faal, worked with the Point and the defunct Daily Observer newspapers and was a former executive committee member of The Gambia Press Union. He was a member of the GFF Media and Publicity sub-committee between 2014 and 2018 and also served as a member of the annual Super Nawettan Organising Committee.

Survived by a wife and children, Mr. has been described by many mourners as the consummate gentleman. Since the news broke out early this morning, there has been an outpouring of messages of condolences for him.

The President, Executive Committee and staff of Football House send their deepest condolences to the family of the deceased trio and pray that their souls rest in eternal peace in Jannatul Firdaus.
