GFF Inspects Progress Works At Gunjur Mini Stadium, Yundum

Works for the construction of Mini Stadiums at Gunjur, Busumbala and National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Yundum are steadily ongoing at the respective grounds.

A delegation of GFF Senior Management Staff headed by General Secretary Lamin M Jassey on Wednesday 2nd September, 2020 embarked on site visits to two of the grounds where brief meetings were held with the Contractor, Consultant and beneficiaries of the project.

The team kicked off the trek at Gunjur where work on the site was progressing witnessed by the community representatives and consultant (Fenta Consulting Architects). The GFF tour team was taken round the ongoing work on the perimeter demarcated area which according to Jallow Kolong (Contractor) would be completed by the end of the month. ” We are only been delayed by the rains but the erecting of the perimeter area would be completed by the end of the month.

Speaking on behalf of the Gunjur Community, Hatab Jobe (Coach) thanked the GFF for the site visit. He said the visit will avail the parties opportunity to have first hand information on the ongoing work. “The Community of Gunjur is ready to work with the contractor in the form of providing labor if the need arises so as to speed up the work”.

GFF General Secretary Lamin M Jassey noted that the Gunjur project is one out of many that is been conceived by the GFF and supported by FIFA. “Its a serious endeavor and the Executive is very concern about the progress of this work. We are a monitoring team to check on the situation on the ground and work with all the parties for the progress of the project”. Mr Jassey urged both the Contractor (Jallow Kolong) and Consultant (Fenta Architects) to speed up the work to finish in order to meet the deadline.

The trekking team later continued to the National Technical Training Center in Yundum where a similar site visit was conducted on the ongoing work of another grass pitch at the NTTC as part of the FIFA Forward 2.0 Projects.
