The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) will organise a grassroots football tournament for champions of the Inter Primary Schools football competitions on 20th June 2019 at the Independence Stadium.
Alagie Nyassi the GFF’s Grassroots Football Coordinator said champions of Banjul, Kanifing and West Coast in both boys and girls categories will be competing in a round-robin league format with the winner in each category to be crowned champions. He added that all this is jeered towards empowering and reviving grassroots football in the country
“The GFF through my office have sponsored all the regions to organise their Lower Basic (Primary) Schools competitions with Banjul and West Coast already playing their finals; we are left with only the KM who I understand will be playing their semis tomorrow. So the GFF is fulfilling its promise of reviving schools football in the country and hopefully next year we will be going nationwide, which will be see the champions of all the seven regional FA’s participating,” he said.
