The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) over the weekend made delivery of football equipment to regional third division women teams in the country.

The equipment is part of football materials that the GFF purchased for women’s football teams at the national and regional levels as part of the Covid-19 relief support to the teams. The beneficiaries are the national first and second division teams as well as all the women teams participating in each of the seven regional football associations.

As part of the assistance, each team participating in the various leagues received two sets of jerseys, 18 pairs of boots, 18 pairs of shin guards and 10 match balls. Following the presentation to the first and second division teams earlier, the Federation last weekend made similar presentations to the Kanifing, Banjul and West Coast Regional Football Associations (RFA).

The deliveries were made by the presidents of the RFAs on behalf of the President of the GFF Mr. Lamin Kabba Bajo who had earlier made the presentation of the said materials to the FA presidents for onward distribution to their regional clubs.

The eight teams in Kanifing, the eight in West Coast and Banjul’s six each received the same number of items given to the first and second division clubs. The final phase of the deliveries will be made in the next few days when the President of the Women’s Football Association, Ms. Sainabou Cham, lead a GFF delegation to the North Bank, Lower River, Central River and Upper River Regions.
