The Gambia Women’s U-20 will return to the Independence on Friday 9th August, 2019, to take on their visiting Liberian counterparts in the second of a two-match international friendly series. The Gambians won the first match 3-2 with both sides having a player sent off.

Speaking in a post-match interview with www.gambiaff.org, Foday Bah the Head Coach has described the mood at the camp as calm, noting that his players are focused. He said the win has motivated the girls more and are now looking forward to the Friday encounter. “We are calm and focused. We are happy with the result but still focused on building the team,” he said.

However, Bah, who intends to give minutes to other players in today’s match, added that some of the players could be missing through injuries and suspension. They are Kumba Kuyateh (concussion), Catherine Jatta (muscle), Bintou Ceesay (stomach upset), and goalkeeper Matty Manga who is suspected for the red card she received in the first game.

“We will have a technical meeting and the players will be engaged to a light free up before the game tomorrow,” Bah highlighted. He said the team is in a recovery mood after playing in a very tactical and rough encounter on Tuesday. “We had a very physical opponent with lot of tackles. So we had to allow the players to rest and also engage them in pool training in the camp,” he concluded.
