In its drive to produce a well-structured and vibrant team of players that will represent the country at U-17 category, Head Coach Abdoulie Bojang and team intensifies training at the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum.

There is a major difference in terms of selection and preparations this year, with a vigorous schedule of trainings and friendly matches. The team is enjoying its glorious moments as the build-up and learning progress increases rapidly ahead of next month’s international friendly with Guinea Bissau. The team over the weekend pounded KGH Academy of Lamin 5-0 in a test match.

Bojang, however, is not concerned about the result of the match but said he is happy that his team has learnt their lessons from the training sessions. “The idea was to train them technically and tactically. The boys have shown that they have been paying great attention to the instructions and the fact that they didn’t concede a goal and were able to score 5 means I am optimistic that we are moving a step forward and now focused on other aspects of trainings,” he affirmed.

Bojang highlighted that the team has been in hard training and will continue as they look forward to be at the stadium on Thursday 25th July and probably expect another friendly on Friday. “For now, we are yet to have our final 25-man squad. We still have time ahead. We have some positions such as the midfield and flank positions are occupied by more than the number we need, so we are taking our time to observe the best out of them and make a final trimming,” he concluded.
