Leaders Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) extended their lead at the top of the first division standings to five points following a 1-0 defeat of Marimoo while their closest challengers in the title race falter in week 19.  GAF now has 35 points, five ahead of second place Brikama United who were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation threatened Samger at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Elsewhere at the weekend, Tallinding United came from behind to force a 1-1 draw when they visited the King George V Mini Stadium in Banjul to take on the home side Banjul United. BK Milan also dented a blow on Real de Banjul’s title aspirations as Coach Alhaji Sarr guided the Bakau based side to a 1-0 defeat of his former team. BK Milan is now on 27 points in fifth, a point adrift of 4th place Wallidan. The Blues were were shocked 2-0 by struggling Gamtel at the Box Bar in Brikama. With the win, Gamtel, who are also the defending champions, have now moved to 7th on the 14-team with 26 points.

Earlier on Friday, 12th April 2019, Fortune got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over bottom club PSV Wellingara.
