First International Bank (FiBanK) Gambia Ltd has send a letter of condolence to The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on the demise of former National Team player and Coach Peter Bonu Johnson.

Bonu died on Sunday 28th July 2019 at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital following a long illness and will be laid to rest on Monday 5th August, 2019 at the Old Jeshwang Christian cemetery.

Below is the full text of the letter.

On behalf of the board, management and staff of FiBank Ltd, we wish to convey our deepest condolences to the Federation upon the demise of the former Gambia National Football Coach, Mr. Peter Bonu Johnson.

Coach Johnson’s affiliation to the Federation’s service has resulted in many successes for Gambian football including the:

  • Guidance of The Gambia U-20 team to a third place position at the African You Championship
  • A maiden appearance at the World Youth championship in Canada and
  • Being the first individual to coach at all levels of The Gambia football teams amongst others.

In this time of grief, the Federation and his family are in our thoughts and players.
