The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Saturday held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Football Hotel in Old Yundum.
At the event, delegates deliberated and unanimously adopted the Financial Statement of the Federation for the year ended 31st December 2018 and the Activity Report of 2018 as well as the Budget for 2019.
Delegates also unanimously endorsed the expulsion of the following five people who took an internal football matter to the normal courts and failed to withdraw it before judgment was delivered, a serious violation of Article 65 of the GFF Constitution:
1. Mr. Kabba Ceesay
2. Mr. Abdoulie Njie (Star)
3. Mr. Essa Jallow
4. Mr. Musa K. Jawara
5. Ms. Mariama Jobarteh
In his remarks, the GFF President Lamin Kabba Bajo announced that as well as the continuous support to league clubs, regional and allied associations, the Federation will for the first time give additional financial support to each of the third division clubs playing in the seven various regional leagues.
The First Vice President Mr. Bakary K. Jammeh said the the current GFF administration has met all audit and governance structures since taking over in 2014.
Abdoulie Jallow the Secretary General of the Gambia National Olympic Committee thanked the leadership of the GFF for keeping up this important statutory requirement since they came to office.
Augustus Prom Audit, who audited our books said: “The Financial Statement gives a true and fair view of the Financial Position of the GFF as at 31st December 2017 and of it’s financial performance and it’s cash flows for the year then ended and has been prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and have been properly prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution of the GFF.”
