England’s public research University Coventry has again visited the Offices of the Gambia Football Federation in Kanifing on their yearly outreach student international visit. The students and lecturers were received at Football House on Friday 12th April, 2019 by the General Secretary Lamin M Jassey shortly before meeting with staff at the Board Room for general discussion.
Head of delegation and Senior Lecturer Simon Massey said they are happy to return to the Gambia as one of their favorite destinations and “making it to the Office of Football for the third time is quite amazing”. He said the students are on their routine international visit which the Gambia is part of. ” We have students on different degree programs and from different countries”.
In welcoming the delegation, GFF General Secretary Lamin M Jassey thanked Mr Massey and the students for one again choosing the Gambia and Football House in particular for their visit. ” This shows that we are an institution that you trust and helpful to your course since this your third visit to our Office”. He briefly explained the GFF’s functions at both national and international level, its partnership with CAF, FIFA and government.
GFF Technical Director Sang Ndong also spoke about Football House’s technical programs including women’s football citing grassroots pilot project for both male and female as the current focus of the technical department hence the project is at its completion stages.
The students later asked questions on areas of women’s football, league matters, international matches etc.
