Brikama Eyes Domestic Double

Reigning league champions Brikama United kept alive their hopes of a domestic double with a 3-1 win over Gamtel in Match Day three of the Late Alhaji Omar Say memorial tournament in Banjul on Thursday afternoon.

The Telecom Boys looked to have fully recovered from their 2-0 loss to Marimoo in the first game as they took an early lead through Paul Boure Sene in the opening minutes but Brikama rallied back to score three unanswered goals before the break, with a brace from Ebrima Badjie and another from captain Modou Jadama

Gamtel never got going again after falling two goals behind and could’ve even conceded more but the Brikama United players seemed to be content with the score as chances came tick and fast but were all wasted.

Gamtel had it late to force a double safe from Abdoulie Cisse in goal for Brikama with both shots coming through substitute Assan Gaye in the 88 and 90+2 minutes respectively.
Gamtel are sent packing even before they take on GAF in their final game after losing two consecutive matches. Brikama on the other hand need to win their final game against Marimoo and hope Gamtel denies GAF victory for the two to meet in their final group game to win the group and qualify for the final.
