Gambia National U-17 Team ( Baby Scorpions) continue their preparation ahead of the weekend WAFU Zone A U-17 Tournament opener in Senegal. The team on Wednesday afternoon descended at the Leoplod Sedat Senghore (Amite) Stadium in Dakar for their second training session since arrival on Monday.

The Baby Scorpions are lodged at Hotel Novotel in the company of its delegation Head William Abraham and Team Manager SADIBOU Kamaso.

Gambia WAFU Officials Martin Gomez and Bakary B BALDEH visitedthe Baby Scorpions at their Dakar resort where they had a brief chat with the team and officials. Both GFF former 3rd Vice Presidand Gomez and the Federation’s Media Officer BB BALDEH congratulated the boys for representing their country while encouraging them to keep up the momentum. 

Meanwhile, WAFU Zone A Secretary General JAMMEH EK BOJANG has disclosed that Liberia has pulled out from the tournament and thus a new format of two groups of four teams would now be outlined instead of the previously three groups of three.

This was confirmed to Gambia’s Head of delegation William Abraham shortly before the Baby Scorpions took off to training at the State Leopold Sedat Senghore.

According to the WAFU Zone A scribe, a new regrouping would take effect in the coming days. Defending champions Mali and hosts Senegal would be considered as seeded teams.
