The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) in collaborations with FIFA on Monday 15th November 2021, kickstart a five-day training course for coach educators/instructors at the home of Gambian football, the National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum.

The training brought together 20 participants, including nine of the Federation’s appointed regional coaches, senior and former coaches who will serve as local coach instructors at the end of the course.

Sang John Ndong the Technical Director of the GFF and one of three local instructors said the training is necessitate because of the new rules of FIFA and CAF. “Because of the changes in FIFA and CAF, we have to produce our own local trainers/instructors. FIFA will be now sending a mentor who will be coming to supervise our current local instructors which is myself, Alagie Sillah and Lamin Sambou (LS),” he affirmed.

TD Ndong added that for his Department to meet the demand, they need to train more coaches who will train more players for the betterment of the game.
