Sampdoria To Sign Omar Colley After Medical

Gambia captain Omar Colley is on the verge of completing his move to Italian club U.C. Sampdoria after completing mandatory medical tests, Gambia Sports online news network confirms to the GFF.The Scorpions international arrived in Italy on Saturday morning and had a medical at a hospital in Genoa before travelling back to Belgium.According to Gambiasports online.com Sampdoria are due to pay KRC Genk €7.75m in transfer plus €2m in performance-related bonuses for the central defender, who would’ve been out of contract with the Belgian side next summer.The one-time Italian Serie A winners and four-time Coppa Italia champions are looking to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new season.

Colley had already been close to a Sampdoria switch during the January window but failed to meet Genk’s €10m valuation of the 25-year-old.

Gambia sports intimated that The former Kuopion Palloseura and Djurgården IF defender will become the most expensive Gambian player after Modou Barrow if the proposed move finalizes.
