Young Scorpions Arrived in Conakry Ahead Of WAFU Kick Off

The Gambia National U-20 Team (Young scorpions) have safely landed in Conakry on Thursday November 21 ahead of the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) U-20 tournament scheduled to kick off on Sunday 24th November, 2019.

The delegation numbering 30 is headed by GFF Executive Committee member Abdou Karim Sey and also includes Pa Suwareh Faye as Team Manager and GFF Media Assistant Amadou O Bah. The team landed at Conakry International Airport on Thursday evening and were received by Officials of the Gambian Embassy in Conakry and are currently hosted at the Primus Hotel Kaloum.
Mattar Mboge and his charges will open the defense of their WAFU U-20 title to Mali in Group B on Monday 25th November.
The team earlier on Thursday morning as part of their practice session walloped over League Division One side GPA FC by thumping the Dockyard boys 4-1. Momodou Bojang scored a brace and Alieu Fadera put the icing on the cake for the Young Scorpions  giving Mattar Mboge and his charges a good farewell note bound for Conakry.
