The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Wednesday began a three-day women’s football coaches’ workshop at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum. This is part of activities marking the forthcoming GFF/FIFA women’s football symposium to be held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre this Friday.
Participants are drawn from all the seven administrative regions across the country and technicians from the GFF/FIFA U-17 girls league.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the General Secretary of the GFF, Mr. Lamin M. Jassey, congratulated the GFF Technical Department for hosting the event, while thanking the resource persons for their deliberations. He further advised the participants to take the course seriously. Jassey added that the GFF, under the leadership of President Lamin Kaba Bajo, has a great passion for women’s football and have supported the advancement of the women’s game since the assumption of his leadership.
The program will cap off on Thursday with a practical session, a look at the roles and responsibilities of a coach, structuring a training session amongst others.
