The purpose of the visit according to the WALO President Colonel David Kabre, is to solicit the Football Federation’s support in their forth coming WALO tournament to be hosted in The Gambia.
According to the officials, their main purpose of visiting The Gambia is to seek government’s approval for the hosting of the Regional body’s AGM which will also culminate in the 14 Member WALO Football tournament slated for May and June 2018.
The GFF President Lamin Kabba Bajo warmly welcomed the WALO Officials to the seat of Gambian Football and assured them of the Federation’s undiluted support to their worthy cause. ‘ I want to thank you so much for the gesture which is a way of trusting our administration and I can assure you that we will give you all the support in the form of technical and administration during the tournament. I also want to congratulate you for all your efforts in the maintenance of peace and order which is a bedrock in the organization’s objectives’.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Lt Col Ensa Tamba thanked the GFF through the President Lamin Kabba Bajo for the hospitality accorded them and the assurances to assist in the organization of the tournament.
‘Mr President I want to thank you on behalf of WALO for the audience you have given us which clearly amplifies your open door policy and your readiness to help with open arms in the tournament’.
The WALO officials were accompanied to the Football House by their Gambian counterparts Lt Col Kawsu Sanyang, Lt Col Ensa Tamba and Col Lamin ML Jammeh.
The WALO Officials are also expected to similarly call on The Gambia Army Chief shortly during their stay in the Smiling Coast.
The WALO tournament is an opportunity for soldiers to meet and create friendship through sports.
