Following the presentation of sanitary items by the Gambia Football Federation to its affiliate Regional Associations at the beginning of the week held at Football House in Kanifing, the items have been further donated to the various Regional Governors/Mayors/Mayoress for the combat against the new Corona Virus (Covid-19).
All the Seven Regional Football Associations across the country on Tuesday 7th April, 2020 began the onward donation of the items to the Regional authorities to reinforce measures for the fight against Covid-19. The Banjul, West Coast, KM, North Bank, LRR, CRR and Upper River Regional Football Associations all donated the items to their Local authorities as promised by the GFF for the collective campaign to kick out Covid-19.
Receiving the items at the Regions, the various recipients expressed gratitude to the football leadership for the positive foresight manifested in helping to combat the pandemic. The Regional authorities unanimously echoed the need for the people to abide by the WHO guidelines and measures to stay safe from contracting the virus while commending the GFF for their contribution to the fight against the global menace.
The materials worth over D70,000:00 (Seventy Thousand Dalasis) include 70 hand wash buckets with head taps, Sanitizers, liquid soap, bottles of 550ml Dettol, Bottles of Madar bleach, bottles of 500ml hand sanitizers and other disinfectants amongst others were shared amongst the Seven Regional Football Associations which are further donated to the Local authorities in the presence of Regional Governors/Mayors/Mayoress, Health Representatives, Sports Chairpersons, National Disaster Management Agency, Area Council and other stakeholders.
