The President, Executive Committee Members and staff of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) have learnt with regret, the sudden demise of Staff Sergeant Patrick Mendy the Team Medic of first division side The Gambia Armed Forces (GFF) Football Club. His death was announced by GAF in a post on their official Facebook Page.
The GFF wishes to extend its condolences to the family of the late Staff Sergeant Mendy, The Gambia Armed Forces Football Club, fans, football stakeholders and well-wishers.
The President of the GFF, Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo, has described Staff Sergeant Mendy’s death as a monumental loss to Gambian football. Mr. Bajo also prayed that Allah (SWT) gives the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
Staff Sergeant Mendy has been described by friends, colleagues and family as a selfless human being of impeachable character and a gentleman of the highest standing. His demise, is indeed the fall of a hero.
