Media Officer To Join Scorpions, Test Match In Ghana

The Gambia Football Federation will dispatch its Publicity and Marketing Officer Bakary B Baldeh to embed with the Scorpions in Ghana and Benin for their training camp and eventual AfCON Qualifier slated for Sunday 11th June in Cotonou.

BB is schedule to depart Banjul on Wednesday 7th June and is assigned to put up a comprehensive coverage of the Scorpions’ training camp in Accra on behalf of the sports journalists fraternity in the Gambia for the benefit of the general public. Mr BB Baldeh will also be with the team in Benin for match updates as the Scorpions play the Squirrels at the Mathew Keriko Stadium in Cotonou.

Meanwhile the Gambia Football Federation has further included a strong official delegation with the team in Ghana and eventually to Benin to cater for their logistical arrangements. GFF Executive Committee member NumuKunda Kanyi is already in Cotonou as GFF representative and is currently at hand with his counterpart and is also charged to facilitate in advance accommodation arrangements, local transport, Scorpions local training ground, reception of team and immigration formalities at airport and to also facilitate the mobilization of Gambians across Cotonou to cheer up the Scorpions. GFF Executive Member Momodou Sowe and Ebrima Secka from the National Sports Council representing government are both in Ghana with the team as officials dispatched by the GFF. Mr Sowe is the Team Manager while Secka represents government.

The GFF further says it is pleased with the general support of Gambians ahead of the Scorpions match and thus requests the prayers of all stakeholders for the success of the Scorpions in their match against the Squirrels on Sunday June 11th. The Football House is further cognizance of the contribution of all stakeholders towards the growth and development of football in the Gambia and as such singled out the media as indispensable partners just as highlighted in its strategic vision.

Meanwhile the Scorpions are billed for friendly warm up with Ghana Local Based side on Wednesday June 12th at 4pm in Accra
