Ahead of the 2019/2020 Season, the Gambia Football Federation’s Competitions Department has released Thirty (30) Match officials for the purpose of Commissioning and Coordinating of matches across the designated playing grounds during the new domestic season.
The appointed Officials, Male and Female will undergo a day’s training program on Saturday 26th October, 2019 at the GFF Secretariat in Kanifing where they will be inducted and refreshed into the standard practices of match arrangements. GFF Competitions Manager Modou Jagne said the training will go a long way to helping both the Commissioners and Coordinators for a hitch free League Season. “We will all be reminded about the international practices of match arrangement with our esteem Resource persons while we also learn some new methods of match arrangements at playing grounds and Competitions Management”, he noted.
The training will be conducted by two Gambian CAF Match Officials in the persons of GFF 2nd Vice President Ebou Faye who serves as CAF General Coordinator and 1st Vice President Alh Bakary K Jammeh as CAF Match Commissioner. The two GFF Officials in the CAF raider are regularly scheduled for assignments across the continent where they are acclaimed for been resourceful and productive.
The GFF is on the verge of professionalizing its League pretty soon and as such the 2019/20 domestic Season is set to announce the Federation’s readiness to venture into the higher echelon of the current League. Meanwhile, Draft Fixtures for both League One and Two have been shared amongst stakeholders to peruse and revert to the Competitions Department on their observations before a final one would be dispatched. This year’s League Season will kick off in December and as such the traditional Teams Management(Pre Season) meeting is scheduled for Saturday 9th November at the Football Hotel in Yundum.
