The program would take the form of a March pass of selected school children from the Central River Region and also the SOS Children’s village from Basse. The kids would be introduced into technical training skills by the Women’s Football Ambassadors that would be preceded by statements from the GFF President and other eminent stakeholders.
This is the final edition of the four year legacy program since its inception in 2014. The first two editions were held in the Greater Banjul Area while Farafenni hosted the first and third edition for the Regions before Jarra Soma were awarded the fourth edition in 2016 which also culminated in the official opening of the FIFA artificial turf in Soma, LRR. The program was concluded by a friendly international between the Gambia national Female Scorpions and Cass Sport of Senegal in which the Gambia won 5-1.
The Live Your Goals amongst others is dedicated to raise awareness on the importance of women’s football and to create a platform where women and girls will realize their talents in football and to further encourage them to stay in the beautiful game.
In a separate development, the GFF wishes to also announce that its 2017/2018 season will begin in November on the 11th with a Super Cup Final between Gambia Armed Forces FC and Hawks FC for the start of the new season. As such, the traditional Club Management meeting ( pre-season meeting ) between the clubs and the Federation is slated for Friday 20th October, 2017 at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel at 09:00am.
