In a bid to create further awareness of the activities of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF), and in line with the Executive Committee’s Communications direction, the Marketing and Communications Department of the GFF will introduce series of activities beginning with a semiweekly in-depth analysis of the Federation’s activities, especially the domestic football competitions.
Beginning Monday 10th December, 2018, the Department will introduce an hourly talk show on our ever increasingly popular YouTube Channel and Facebook Page aimed at reviewing the activities of the Federation over the previous week and a look ahead to the upcoming events of the new week with great emphasis on the domestic league and cup competitions in both male and female categories. The show, which will be streamed live from 12:00pm-1:00pm, will be held every Monday and every Thursdays and will be hosted by Mr. Bakary B. Baldeh, an experienced journalist with a proven track record in the electronic media. He currently serves as the GFF’s Communications Officer.
In announcing the development, the Director of Marketing & Communications, GFF, Mr. Baboucarr Camara said since Communication is the heart of every organisation, it is, therefore, imperative for the Federation to communicate effectively to achieve our football development goals. He added that this will help to consolidate the good relationship between the GFF and its stakeholders as well as the general public.
“This can in turn improve morale and efficiency. When we communicate effectively, information flows freely and this always has a positive impact on customer satisfaction, in this case our stakeholders,” Mr. Camara said. “It is in this spirit that in the New Year also, we are also going to engage the media fraternity on a day’s workshop that will seek to acquaint them with the general operations of the Federation and tools of mass communication in tandem with FIFA/CAF principles. This, in the view of the Federation, will avail the media fraternity the opportunity to understand the general operations of association football.”
The Department will also introduce a quarterly video documentary of the football activities in the regions, through our regional structures. The third division regional leagues, across the seven administrative regions of the country, as well as other GFF activities within the regions will be narrated in summary for the general knowledge of the public.
Meanwhile, in our continuous bid to serve as the interface between the GFF and the media fraternity, the Department also intends to introduce a MEDIA INTERACTION DAY, that would be hosted at Football House once every three months, seeking to bring the leadership of the Federation and the journalists under one umbrella to discuss matters that are of common concern to the general public in a question and answer session. It is the belief of the Federation that this will help to bridge the gap and increase the trust between the leadership of the Federation and the general public via-a-vis the media.
