Men’s Second Division Coach of the Month Nominees
Kebba Sawaneh, Kexx United
Following a strong start to the season, Sawaneh has consolidated his team with some steady results. Whilst some his title rivals have faltered, Kexx finished the month at the top of the table and will look to maintain this form in order to gain a coveted promotion place. Ended the month unbeaten, with the highlight being an entertaining 3-2 win over Young Africans that demonstrated Sawaneh’s tactical knowledge and his players seem to be understanding his message loud and clear.
Ousman Drammeh, BK Milan
As a team that always plays on the front foot, Drammeh deserves credit for steering the team to a very strong record that is amongst the best in the division, despite a setback at the end of the month against Young Africans. As one of the highest scorers in the league, the attacking intent of BK Milan cannot be questioned and Drammeh must be praised for building a team that play a vibrant brand of football. He is also carrying out a number of different roles at the club alongside his coaching which shows him as someone who is highly organised, disciplined and focused, all of which are key attributes in coaching.
Mustapha Jammeh, Latrikunda United
Unable to boast the resources of some of the other teams in the division, Jammeh has led a splendid month for Latrikunda United. Having gained promotion and dubbed relegation favourites, Jammeh has guided the team to an unbeaten month and a steady rise up the table. His players are ready to perform at any given moment, as shown in the recent win against Lions of Banjul. All of which is a sign that the coach has prepared his troops very well on the training ground and they are delivering in matches.
*Amat Cham, SK East Bi, was in the running for the award but was sent to the stands during the month and is therefore ineligible.
Men’s Second Division Player of the Month Nominees
Fabakary Touray, Kexx United
After a fruitful month, Touray has come up with 3 goals including an assist from his box-to-box midfield role. His energy and intensity has guided the team to their unbeaten month and is one of the shining lights in the Second Division. The midfield dynamo will be looking to continue this fantastic form as his team hunt promotion.
Modou Sillah, BK Milan
Whether he’s barking out instructions to his team-mates or making last ditch tackles, Sillah is always in the heat of the action and fully involved for 90 minutes. As the leader at the back, he is the rock that the team builds on and his presence has been the positive force behind his team’s great form.
Kebba M Sallah, SK East Bi
The burden of scoring goals falls on the strikers and Sallah has delivered for his team this month with 3 goals. He also works very hard up front, is good on the ball and is a threat with his pace. Opposition defenders have found him a handful and he may the key to SK East Bi making a strong bid for promotion in the coming months.
Omar Jallow, Latrikunda United
After proving himself as the regular match winner for the team, Jallow has shown to be a lethal finisher but he is also a very versatile player. No matter what formation the team sets up in, he just looks comfortable. Utility players can be frustrated at times because they never have a settled position but Jallow deserves credit for displaying a positive attitude and giving his best whenever he is on the pitch.
Ebrima Bojang and Alagie Camara of Brufut United were last month’s winners for Coach and Player of the Month award respectively.
