The former Human Resources Manager of the GFF Baboucarr Camara has been promoted as Director of Marketing and Communications with immediate effect. Mr Camara received his promotion on Thursday October 16 together with a few members of staff who are also now been reassigned to other portfolios.
According to General Secretary Lamin M Jassey, the promotion conferred on Baboucarr Camara is part of the re organisation of the GFF and inline with the new Strategic direction of the leadership. ‘ This is to increase the human resources base of the GFF and to further capacitize our work force’. He said henceforth, all personnel will belong to where they rightfully deserved.
Meanwhile former Publicity and Marketing Officer Bakary B Baldeh is been re assigned as Communications Officer a new feat described by the GS as best practice norm in Football administration across the globe. Mr Baldeh will work with two Media Assistants expected to be appointed in 2019 while a Marketing Manager will also be recruited as part of the Department personnel.
‘Communications/Marketing has been a very important pillar to promoting and financing Football and thus the GFF deems it necessary to beef and strengthen the Department with a competent Director in Baboucarr Camara whose appointment is a deserved one. ( Graduate and degree holder from the University of the Gambia on Journalism and Digital Media ), a Marketing Manager to be appointed later, a Communications Officer in Bakary B Baldeh whose role is now acclaimed higher as opposed to Media Officer and we will also recruit two Media Assistants to help BB and the Department to effectively carry their assignments’, GS Jassey highlighted.
Meanwhile as part of the new GFF Oganogram structure, the GFF Competition Department will also be beefed up with a Competition Director to be appointed in 2019. Already the Department has a De facto Competition Manager Baboucarr Jobe ( Pa Sulay ), Competition Assistant ( Logistics ) Mafugie Jatta and two other Assistants responsible for Admin and Statistics both to be recruited in 2019.
He said the demand of stakeholders to actualize these structural changes has also motivated the GFF Leadership to swiftly act on the appointments and reassignments.
