GFF Electoral Committee Inaugurated Ahead of 2022 Elective Congress

The President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo on Thursday 19th May 2022 inaugurated the GFF Electoral Committee in a brief ceremony held at Football House.

As enshrined in our constitution, members of the GFF at the last Annual General Meeting held in December 2021 elected the members of the Electoral Committee that will administer the 2022 Elective Congress in line with the Electoral Code and approved by FIFA.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Mr. Bajo first congratulated the Committee for the task and thanked them for accepting the offer.  “I want to first register my thanks and congratulations for first obtaining your conscience to accept the appointments. Nobody has any doubts about your selection and it’s been generally acclaimed by the stakeholders,”. Mr Bajo said, noting that the task ahead is a very important stage in the GFF calendar, thus the more reason “why work should start in earnest ahead of the elections in August”.

The Chairman of the Committee, Lamin Sanneh who is also the Governor of West Coast Region thanked the GFF for the trust and confidence reposed on them for the what he described as a noble task. He said the assignment is worthy to take upon and thus promised to work collectively to ensure their expectations are met.

“We will do our best and I’m delighted to accept the call of responsibility. So, we will do our utmost and hold the event to the best of our abilities with the guiding principles,” Governor Sanneh, a seasoned sports administrator said.

Other members Saikou B. Jarju, Karalang Jatta and Abdoulie Jallow all thanked the GFF for trusting their conscience to serve in the Committee. They promised to deliver to the best with integrity and dedication.

Haddy Sillah-Njie is the other member of the Committee. The G eneral Secretary serves as the Secretary to the committee in line with the Electoral Code. All matters related to the 2022 GFF Elective Congress will henceforth be under the purview of the Elective Committee.
