GFF/CAF C License Coaching Course Wraps Up at NTTC

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) on Thursday 4th March, 2021, brought down the curtain on the first phase of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) C License coaching course in a ceremony held at the National Technical Training Center (NTTC) in Old Yundum.

Declaring the course closed on behalf of the GFF President, Third Vice President, Rtd. General Langtombong Tamba, reiterated the importance the Executive Committee places on capacity building. “Since the inception of this Executive, we set ourselves a target and this is one of them,” he stated.

“We know every Gambian, including ourselves, prioritize our National Team’s qualification, which is a good thing but we also greatly prioritize capacity building which is very important in the development of Gambian football.”

He reassured the participants of the Exco’s commitment to creating the enabling environment for more of such trainings to take place.

Speaking earlier, the Technical Director Sang John Ndong thanked the GFF for the opportunity and urged the coaches to make good use of the knowledge learned throughout the programme.

For his part, Kebba Touray, alias Jasper, speaking on behalf of The Gambia Football Coaches Association, paid tribute to the late Suleyman Kuyateh and hailed Coach Matarr M’Boge for what he described as a tremendous performance in the ongoing Africa U-20 championship in Mauritania. Touray called on the trained coaches to be hardworking and implement what they learned on the pitch.

Yusupha Sanyang delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of his colleagues. He spoke at length on the importance of capacity building and promised to deliver beyond expectations.

Participants were awarded certificates at the end of the event.
