The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) would on 30th April, 2019, organised a women’s football symposium, festival and tournament at The National Technical Training Centre (NTTC) in Old Yundum. The programme that would get underway at 10:00am would stretch all the way to 18:00pm in the evening.
The programme is spearheaded by Ms. Monika Staab, the Director of The Gambia-German football development project. It is organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, the Ministry of Women, Children& Social Welfare, the European Union (EU) and the German-Gambian Project.
The Minister of Women, Children & Social Welfare, Mrs. Fatou Sanyang-Kinteh, will be the patroness for this special event and would preside over the opening ceremony together with the President of the GFF, Mr. Lamin Kaba Bajo. The event is another good opportunity as part of the core concept of The Gamba-German football development project of encouraging and empowering the role of the girls and women in the society.
Following the opening ceremony, there will be a festival for 50 orphan children from Yundum until midday and at 14:00pm, there will be a symposium. At 15:00pm, there will be a presentation by the GFF, the EU, and The Gambia-German project. The final programme of the day would begin at 16:00pm when there will be a mini tournament between the participating teams, which includes the University of The Gambia, Management Development Institute, The Gambia College, amongst others.
