After more than six months of disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, international football matches are expected to resume shortly with nations scheduling for friendlies within the FIFA sanctioned period ahead of Qualifiers around the world.
In the latest FIFA ranking released on Thursday 17th September, 2020, the Gambia has made significant moves with three places from the previous standing and now ranked 46 in Africa and 159 globally.
Senegal are number One in Africa and 20 on the global stage while Tunisia, Nigeria and Algeria follows in the order. Somalia, Seychelles and Eritrea also remain at the bottom zone while Afcon D members DR Congo occupies 9th, Gabon on 17th and Angola sits at 33rd.
Belgium maintains its lead on the global stage with France, Brazil and England coming closely while Portugal also made the cut into the top Five.
