Blue Boys FC and Lancaster United are currently leading the way in their respective groups as the Banjul regional third division league, under the supervision of the Banjul Football Association, gathers momentum.
The 20-team league is divided into two groups of 10 teams each and having played four matches in Group A, the unbeaten Blue Boys is top of the log with 10 points. The only other unbeaten side in that group is Police FC, formerly Interior, who have accumulated eight points in second from two wins and as many draws.
Afia Bii FC, Waterside FC and NAWEC are all levelled in third place with seven points, separated only by goal difference while QCity Academy is sixth with six points. Red Tigers and Lions of Banjul, formerly of the national second division, both have four points from as many matches.
Meanwhile, in Group B, Lancaster United have established a single point lead at the top with seven points from the three matches they’ve played. Lying behind them in second and third is City Boys FC and Richard Saller FC with six and five points respectively. Bena Banjul FC and Crab Island both have four points with Roots FC on three.
