Barrow Holds the Key as Bologna Hopes to Continue Winning Form

Bologna will again rely on Gambian international Musa Barrow for goals when Benevento visits the Stadio Renato Dell’Ara this Friday. The former Hawks protégé hit a double at the weekend to help his side to a 3-0 win at Parma.

The two sides are both locked on 23 points in the second half of the table with 21 matches played, languishing just five points above the drop zone and Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side would be hoping to put some further light between themselves and the relegation zone with a home win.

Barrow, who ended his mini drought with two first half goals at Parma, is the main man up front for Bologna and his form would be key to their fortunes in the business end of the season. Coming into that match, Bologna had one win from eleven but the outcome of the match was never in doubt when the Scorpion opened the scoring after just quarter of an hour played.

Parma center back Mattia Bani tripped Nicolas Sansone near the host’s box forcing the referee to signal for a Bologna free kick. Sansone took the set piece swinging in a spectacular cross which was headed home by Barrow for the opener.

The duo would combine again to give Bologna a comfortable 2-0 lead in the 32nd minute. This time the 29-year old Italian forward received a pass from Roberto Soriano and swiftly turned to face Parma’s goal before threading the ball through the defense to find Musa Barrow on the edge of the box.
