Adama Saidy Brace Sees Young Africans Past Immigration

Young Africans of Banjul moved to 11th place on the 16-team domestic second division table on Friday with 21 points following a dominant 2-0 defeat of Immigration at the Late Ousman Saho Football Field in Old Yundum.

Adama Saidy became the most decisive player in this encounter, scoring a first half brace to lead his side to the comfortable victory, ensuring that they just played to protect the commanding lead in the second half.

Young Africans, who still have a game in hand against Gunjur United, could move further up on the table with victory in that rescheduled fixtures against fifth place southerners.

The match also brought the curtain down on week 18 fixtures of the national second tier club competition, where a staggering 28 goals were scored across eight different fixtures, an average of 3.5 goals per game.

Elsewhere in the final match day of the week, Gunjur United remained fifth on the log despite a 2-2 draw with PSV Wellingara at the Live Your Dreams Football Complex in Basori. Gunjur has 27 points but still with a game in hand while PSV Wellingara has moved a place up to ninth with the draw, ahead of Bombada on goal difference.
